Our HLF Your Heritage application is done

Our HLF bid has been completed and submitted. The application process takes a few months. As autumn approaches, we should know if we have been successful.

Moving along plans for a new MHMS website

People in the MHMS group are currently involved with many diverse tasks but, finally, we have had the chance to meet and discuss the challenges associated with developing a more competent MHMS website.

What a lot there is to consider!  It's a good job we have such a great bunch of knowledgeable people associated with the project .

We have agreed to follow a formal planning strategy, developing a requirements analysis and specification, etc.

Feels like we are really moving things along now.

MHMS funding search

It seems we are all agreed that our best strategy to develop the project would be to secure a Heritage Lottery Fund grant. There are 8 or 9 different HLF grant schemes overall but only a couple are of possible use to us, these are:

Heritage Grants (grants above £50,000) and Your Heritage Grants (grants between £3000 and £50,000)

More plans for BHOD 10 and MHMS

Just concluded a long MHMS meeting and we are rapidly concluding that to evolve the project meaningfully we are going to have to secure some funding, but, where from? The economy is in the doldrums and there seems to be few options. We have agreed to look at the various possible sources of support and compare timeframes for application, work required to produce a funding bid, etc. Work to identify the prospect of work, to find the means to fund work!

Plans for BHOD 10 and MHMS

December, and we have just concluded a meeting to kick start the BHOD 10 programme. Decided to take on the challenge of developing an even larger event than the one staged this year. The MHMS project is also to be enlarged, but quite what we will do in relation to this initiative has been left for a meeting after Xmas.

Seems like we should all aim to get a lot of feasting in over the festive season, we’re obviously going to expend a lot of energy come the New Year. Seasons greetings to all!
